Week 3: All According to Plan... God's Plan
Bible Reading...
Genesis 12:1-3; 15:1-5
Matthew 20:17-19
Life is always easier when you know "what's next". There is a lot of comfort in knowing someone else is telling you what to do. How comfortable is it when you don't know WHY someone is asking you to do something? Is "trust me bro" good enough for you?

God asked people to trust Him many times in the Bible. The trust was often challenged when things got difficult or scary. These individuals held strong in their trust. That's what we call faith. We know that God has a plan for all things and that no matter how bad things look, Christ overcomes. I'm sure some of the disciples hearing about Christ's death had their doubts. But Christ even warned them ahead of time "I'm going to go away, but after three days, I'll return." God always has a plan and that is something we can all trust!
Memorize and Internalize
After these events, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield; your reward will be very great.
(Genesis 15:1)

"They will hand Him over to the Gentiles to be mocked, flogged, and crucified, and on the third day He will be raised."
(Matthew 20:19)
Engage
Let's get engaged with this week's lesson. Sometimes life can feel like an incomplete puzzle: we have a couple pieces but can't tell what the whole picture it. God shows us that He has a plan for all things, even when those things don't make sense. This week we will put together our own puzzles. Each day you'll put together more of the puzzle but the final picture won't be revealed until the last day. Think about how sometimes we don't know the entire picture, but through faith and doing what God calls us to do, more and more of it is revealed!

Create Your Kid's Puzzle
Draw or print a picture on paper (thicker paper or posterboard works best). Cut the paper into puzzle pieces. Make at least one piece for each day, but more pieces can be made to make things more challenging. For multiple kids, parents may want to put make pieces from different colored paper.

Hide Pieces and Make Clues
Hide each puzzle piece and create clues for where to find them. Clues can either point to a location or require them to complete tasks to reveal the location. Get creative!

Send Kids Searching
Each day, give a clue or task to your kids to reveal the location of different pieces. Once found, tape the pieces on a wall or door until they have recreated the picture. Think each day of something God has shown you piece by piece!

Meditate Through Prayer
Complete your activity by praying that God shows you His plan in your life, that you have the strength and courage to do what God asks you to do, and thank God for the opportunity to be a part of His world!
