How it all started...
The Well Community Church started from a conviction that led to action. The conviction was to reach more people for Christ, especially the disillusioned, the formerly-churched, and those who feel like they are on the outside looking in. Three pastor friends realized that in a tight-knit, local community it can be easy to feel like you don't really belong. Traditions, culture, and generational ties make church for some easy, but its natural to ask "isn't there something more than this?"
This conviction led to the realization that to be different, we needed to start something different. A church rooted in conviction, not tradition. A church driven by unity, not public image. A church which embraces that which Christ called us to embrace with a willingness to sacrifice everything else on the alter so that we can be made more effective messengers of the Good News.
Our church first "soft launched" virtually on Valentine's Day in 2021, and officially launched on Easter the same year. Since then, we have morphed and changed as God has called us to ensure we are focused on what really matters: our unity in Christ and our desire to share God's love with all those around us.

God and Growth...
In Christmas of 2021, a pastor mentoring the church plant remarked "looking at this crowd, I think we're going to need a bigger boat". The church quickly outgrew their original location at the Walgreens shopping center in Bowling Green and relocated to 144 East Broaddus Ave in 2022. Around this time, we began sustaining several home church offerings which engaged the church family in innovative ways. Three years later, the church would have the opportunity to sign a lease on a nearby house to use for ministry and mission purposes.
The evolution of the place we call "home" is a metaphor for God's work in this church. As needs arise, God provides. Nothing is done strategically or through a deliberate attempt to pursue institutional growth. Instead, The Well Community Church is dedicated towards doing what it needs to do, going where it needs to go, and being what it needs to be for God's glory and fame, not for our own.
If no one ever knows our name, but they know Christ, our church has succeeded.

Where we are headed...
We don't have a plan. There's no roadmap and no strategy; only convictions and open doors. We desire to know God and to aid others in knowing Him, too. However that manifests itself is where we are prepared to go.
We currently host multiple worship gatherings, both the "Hub" gathering Sundays at 9:30 and our "Home" gatherings at various times, Bible studies, events, and service opportunities. Some attributes of our church are persistent from year-to-year and others exist for a season. Our passion is to be driven by conviction and not personal ambition. Our prayer is that God would continue using us to reach our community for earthly and eternal purposes.
We certainly hope God uses us as an instrument for many years to come, but if His will is for us to exist for a season, we're good with that too.
As our church celebrates 5 years of operation in 2026, we are excited to see where God may be leading us; thanking God for the blessings that have come before us and eagerly awaiting the glory to come after. Will you join us on this crazy journey? It won't be easy, but it'll be worth it.
